Karabağlar Atatürk Vocational High School
Ataturk Vocational High School is a technical high school in Izmir, the third biggest city in Turkey. It is the biggest technical high school of Izmir and has six departments: Information Technologies, Electronic Technologies, Furniture and Design, Metal and Welding Technologies, Machine Technologies and Mechanical department. We educate students for industrial associations, factories and the technical companies.
The school gives the education by modular system until 2010. We are prepared to create many different projects and to function as a host organization. The school has obtained many experiences in LdV projects.
The school is the only one vocational high school that got "European Language Award" in Turkey. This award was given for a devolopted Internet based education platform for teaching English in area of renewable energies.
The school has close relations with city of Izmir Governorship, Izmir Industrialists and Businessmen Association (KASIAD), Aegean Chamber of Industry.
What are the organisation's activities in the field of this application?
The school shares the same objectives with the applicant institution and the other partners in this project. The objectives we have come up with the consortium are:
- To increase well-trained work force
- To develop suitable teaching materials in English
- To perform observations, to present suggestions.
- To enable training of trainers
The school works from 8:00 to 17:00 to provide vocational training to young adult students on weekdays and there are classes also at weekends and in the evenings from 17:00 to 22:00. It is an important Turkish school because of vocational education quality, products produced and high workforce creation rates Regarding them, the main tool to reach project objectives is education and training. As;
