The second international meeting of our project was held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, from April 7th to 11th, hosted by one of our project partners, “Henry Ford” Vocational High School.
Unlike the first meeting, this time our project students and school principals also participated in the event. During the week-long program, students took part in a variety of activities, including a guided introduction to “Henry Ford” Vocational High School and a cultural dinner at a traditional restaurant. All these activities were guided by the host school’s own project students. Thanks to this, students from different countries had the opportunity to interact, socialize, and build cultural understanding.
One of the most engaging activities of the week was a location-based puzzle game organized by the host school. Two groups were formed, each consisting of students from Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. The goal of the game was to encourage cooperation among students to answer a series of questions. Each team had a leader who communicated the instructions and questions to their group, and answers were found through collaboration. Since all the questions were about Sofia and its historical landmarks, the activity also served as a rich cultural experience.
After this activity, each participant completed a satisfaction survey about the project. The survey included questions such as which aspects they enjoyed the most, which parts could be improved, what they gained from the project, and how their skills had improved before and after participating.
One of the most important parts of the meeting was the student presentations. Coordinators from each institution gave informative speeches to the students. Afterwards, students presented the solar-powered vehicles they had built, describing the construction process, the challenges they faced, and the knowledge and experience they gained. After the presentations, all participants had the opportunity to closely examine and test the vehicles.
